Minnie Driver, Ruth Jones & James Nesbitt Leading Harlan Coben’s Next Netflix Thriller ‘Run Away’

Minnie Driver, Gavin and Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones and James Nesbitt are leading cast on Run Away, Harlan Coben’s next Netflix series.

The trio join another 13 in the latest from Coben, as his current series, Missing You, dominates top-10s around the world and a year after Fool Me Once drew millions and millions of viewers to Netflix.

Driver is playing Ingrid Greene, Jones, who has just come off the back of the smash-hit Gavin & Stacey finale, is Elena Ravenscroft and Nesbitt is Green’s husband Simon.

Synopsis reads: “Simon had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she’s not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence. In the aftermath, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and his search to find her will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.”

In keeping with previous Coben adaptations, Run Away will relocate the story from the U.S. to the UK. Danny Brocklehurst is writing Run Away and Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street Productions is once again behind the series, having frequently collaborated with Coben.

Coben’s Netflix deal has born serious fruit and Fool Me Once was the most watched show on the streamer in the first half of last year.

EPs are Coben, Shindler, Brocklehurst and Richard Fee. Guy Hescott is series producer, Will McDonagh is producer and associate producer is Charlotte Coben.
