Yahoo Lifestyle Miley Cyrus Wants Literally Nothing to Do With Her Family’s Recent Public Drama
The Cyrus family has been in the news...a LOT lately thanks to fresh drama with Billy Ray Cyrus and his kids, and apparently Miley Cyrus wants nothing to do with it.
“Miley used to feel overwhelmed by the family drama. She worked hard to remove herself. She’s not about to get involved again,” a source tells People. “She’s in a great place now. She’s thriving and looking out for herself.”
The source also notes that Miley “has a great relationship with her mom. She’s happy her mom is doing well, too.”
In case you aren’t caught up on this drama, Miley’s brother Trace recently expressed concern for Billy Ray after he performed at the inauguration, saying, “Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years, but you’ve pushed all of us away.”
He added, “Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though.”
Their brother Braison then got involved and said Billy is “happy, healthy and ready to make this record.”
You can get a full rundown on this family’s endless feud this way, but for what it’s worth, Miley was very positive about her dad during My Next Guest Needs No Introduction back in June, saying (per E!), “Honestly, my mom is my hero. My father—I’m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me. He’s almost given me this map. There is a map of what to do and what not to do. And he’s guided me on both.”
