Some of her most memorable looks include her platinum blonde pixie cut during her Bangerz era, or the iconic mullet that she rocked during the COVID-19 quarantine.

Amid what has come to be known as her Hannah Montana era,” AKA the late 2000s and early 2010s, Miley left kids across the globe envious of her long, wavy tresses.

Miley starred on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana between 2006 and 2011.

In fact, photos of Miley would often go viral across platforms like Tumblr and Pinterest, with numerous young fans expressing their desire to have hair similar to hers.

Why so many, you ask? Because her mom, Tish Cyrus, wasn’t satisfied otherwise.

Specifying that she had “250 individual hair extensions” in, Miley said on Harper’s Bazaar’s The Good Buy podcast, “If it was under 250, my mom wasn’t having it. Tish would say, ‘We need another row!’”

“They don’t even do that anymore,” Miley added of the type of hair extensions she had fitted.

Reacting to Miley’s revelation, several internet users have admitted that they thought her famous long locks were natural.

“i thought it was all real,” one Reddit user wrote. “I truly thought that was her real hair,” someone else admitted on X, formerly Twitter.

“Omg I thought it was her real hair this whole time,” one user said, while another added, “As a kid I thought this was all natural too.”

“What do you MEAN that wasn’t her real hair,” one more surprised user wrote.

Some users went on to point out that the “weight and upkeep” of so many individual hair extensions would be super hard to handle.

“i cannot begin to imagine living without being able to touch your scalp to that extent. i always thought she had naturally thick hair and some extensions, but 250 individual wefts of hair placed around your head??” someone tweeted.

Meanwhile, others theorized that the “years of masses of hair extensions” might be the reason that Miley famously decided to cut her hair short after the so-called Hannah Montana era.

“This explains her bob cut in 2011/2012 and the ultra short platinum do she had in 2013/2014. After years of masses of hair extensions I would enjoy a break, too,” someone wrote.
