Ahead of the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future, Michael J. Fox treated fans to a blast from the past.

The actor reunited with castmates from the beloved 1985 time travel comedy, including Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Thomas F. Wilson, at the Fan Expo New Orleans event, which took place at the Big Easy’s Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from Jan. 9 to 11. Eighties Rocker Huey Lewis, 74, was also on hand, joining the four actors for a Jan. 10 panel.

The "Power of Love" singer also took a moment to recreate his Back to the Future cameo with Fox, 63. On Sunday, Jan. 12, DeLorean rental company DeloreanRental.com shared a photo on Instagram of the pair at the expo, with the Spin City actor pointing a megaphone at Lewis.

The pic was a sly nod to the moment in the film when Fox’s Marty McFly auditions for his high school’s Battle of the Bands, playing Lewis’s “Power of Love.” Lewis appears in the scene as an unnamed faculty member who uses a megaphone to tell Marty and co. that their music is “just too darn loud” for the competition.

That wasn’t the only Back to the Future moment Fox recreated at the event. On Saturday, Jan. 11, Fan Expo New Orleans posted a photo on Instagram of the actor with James Tolkan, who played principal Stanford S. Strickland in the film. In the pic, the pair glare at each other with Tolkan pointing at Fox in the same way he did during a Back to the Future scene in which he berates Marty for being a slacker.

“Slackers never change and Mr. Strickland will be sure to remind you,” the post’s caption reads. “Michael J. Fox and James Tolkan reunited at #FANEXPONewOrleans2025 today and it was just like old times.”

Tolkan also reunited with Claudia Wells, 58, at the event. The actress played Marty's girlfriend Jennifer Parker in the first Back to the Future film and was also a target of Principal Strickland's ire. (Elisabeth Shue took over the role in the film's two sequels.)

Elsewhere at Fan Expo New Orleans, Wilson, Thompson, Fox and Lloyd delivered a heartfelt shout-out to those effected by the devastating L.A. wildfires.

"We wanna wish you all the very best in California," Thompson said in a video posted to DeloreanRental's Instagram. "Hang on. Remember, it's gonna get better in the future."

"We know you. We love you. And we're going to have a bright future," Wilson added. "The future's bright."
