Metallic Dresses Are Trending on the 2024 CMA Awards Red Carpet
There was no shortage of eye-catching looks at the 2024 CMA Awards — due in part to the parade of metallic gowns.
The metallic trend, which also dominated the red carpet at the recent LACMA Art + Film Gala 2024 and this year’s Emmy Awards, is still going strong, as evidenced by country music’s biggest night. At the CMA Awards, a handful of music artists put their own twist on shiny gowns.

Take a look below at some of the biggest metallic statements from the 2024 CMA Awards.
Simone Biles
Simone Biles showcased her new bob with a silver dress that featured ruching on the sides. The gown, which was part one-shoulder and part off-the-shoulder was paired with pointed-toe shoes and minimal accessories, including a handchain.
Kelsea Ballerini
Kelsea Ballerini had a more refracted take on the metallic trend, wearing a disco ball-like gown that consisted of large sequins. Ballerini wore the sleeveless gown with silver eye shadow, long waves, and silver sandals.
Kassi Ashton
Kassi Ashton meanwhile put a chainmail twist on the metallic trend in a hooded gown made by the music artist. “It’s literally made out of metal,” Ashton said on the red carpet, adding, “I found the fabric at Mood Fabrics in New York City and I had to hand-stitch it.”
Megan Moroney
The metallic looks didn’t end at the red carpet: Megan Moroney wore a sparkling silver dress to perform during the awards show. The music artist opted for a glistening halter dress with an A-line pleated skirt, pairing it with cowboy boots.
Julie Williams
Julie Williams wore head to toe sequins, in a gown with butterfly sleeves. Williams paired the sparkling gown with platform sandals and a bolo tie.
Maddie Font
Maddie Font also opted for a sequin gown, wearing a strapless silver dress with a sweetheart neckline. Font accessorized her gown with a pair of glittering sandals and a diamond necklace and bracelet.
Colbie Caillat
Colbie Caillat did the metallic trend in a minimal way with low-key sparkle, in a draped rhinestone-dotted mesh gown with a strapless bodice.
Molly Tuttle
Molly Tuttle put a colorful spin on the metallic trend in a quilt-like strapless gown covered in pinks and oranges. Tuttle paired the shiny ensemble with a pair of metallic sandal heels and gold earrings.
