Met Gala 2024: All the looks from the red carpet

The 2024 Met Gala is officially underway at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This year's official dress code is 'The Garden of Time' in celebration of the Costume Institute's latest exhibition, 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion'.

This year's Met Gala hosts are Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and Bad Bunny.

Zendaya

Many fans have already dubbed Zendaya as having "the best outfit" for the night, and we have to agree. She wears custom Maison Margiela, and looks flawless.

Zendaya then came out at the end of the carpet to show off a second look. This time, she wore Alexander McQueen.

Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling wears a stunning architectural Gaurav Gupta gown and fans were obsessed with her look.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian shocked fans in her custom Maison Margiela gown, and many questioned why she made her waist so small.

"Somebody please tell Kim Kardashian that she’s allowed to breathe!! Breathing is not a crime!!" one X user wrote. Another added, "Next she won’t have any waist."

A third joked that she is "built like a cartoon character".

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny went very fairy tale with his Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection by John Galliano look. It's like a prince crossed with a horse! Thank goodness for a man who goes all in on the theme.

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky

People were a little less impressed to see Chris Hemsworth, one of the chairs for the night, went with a regular suit. He and wife Elsa Pataky look gorgeous as always, but we wish they took it up a notch!

"Chris Hemsworth being a co-chair and still wearing a regular suit...jail," one fan wrote, while another said, "Chris Hemsworth is this a f***ing joke to you?"

"Everybody came to slay except Chris Hemsworth," a third agreed.

Dan Levy

Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy looked incredible! Sorry Chris, but we are just glad to have another man who brought it tonight!

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez looked amazing as always in Schiaparelli, but fans were a little disappointed as the look was very similar to many others she's worn in the past. If you don't try something different at the Met Gala, when will you?!

Jessica Biel looked stunning in her pink Tamara Ralph gown, which was adorned with hundreds of petals.

Riley Keough looked so beautiful in her gown, which is custom Chanel.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo

Ariana Grande and her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo looked incredible, with the singer wearing custom Loewe and Cynthia wearing Thom Browne. Fans absolutely loved their looks for the night.

Lana Del Rey's gown was simply incredible, with some fans saying she's the "best dressed" of the night in her look, which was inspired by Alexander McQueen.

Nicole Kidman wore custom Balenciaga, which was inspired by a 1950s gown, with the Aussie actress saying of the dress, "I consider it a sleeping beauty that's been brought back to life."

Sydney Sweeney looked unrecognisable, with some comparing her to Snow White in her look.
