Meghan Markle Tracked Down Billie Eilish To Surprise A 15-Year-Old Fan Who Lost Everything In The California Wildfires
Meghan Markle revealed that she reached out to everybody she knew in a bid to help a 15-year-old Billie Eilish fan who lost everything in the California wildfires last month.
Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, were among the first celebrities spotted on the ground at volunteer sites amid the devastating fires that left thousands of people with nothing after their homes burnt to the ground.
For reference, Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles and is no stranger to helping out her community. When she was just 13 years old, she began volunteering at a soup kitchen on “Skid Row” — an area in the city that is known for its large population of unhoused people — and she continued working there throughout high school.
In addition to volunteering to support those affected by the wildfires, Meghan and Harry made monetary donations to disaster relief through their Archewell Foundation, and also opened up their Montecito home to loved ones who’d been forced to evacuate.
And on Tuesday, Meghan revealed that she went the extra mile to surprise one of the young people she’d met when volunteering.
Noticeably excited as she filmed herself walking toward a pile of Billie Eilish merchandise, Meghan explained: “About two or three weeks ago, when my husband and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes.”
Meghan recalled meeting the daughter of one of the women affected, who told her that she was 15.
“Her mom shared something with me,” Meghan continued. “When they came back to see their house for the first time, which is as we were meeting them, all she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to that she left in the washing machine or the dryer.”
“Of course, they now see their home and the washing machine and the dryer are ash; they’re not there anymore,” she explained. “And so I said: ‘I don’t know Billie Eilish, but I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt.’”

“So I thought of everybody that I knew, and I made a voice note,” Meghan went on. “And I was like: ‘Please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish, here’s what I’m asking.’”
Panning the camera, Meghan showed off just how much merch Billie had sent over for this fan — including a huge stack of T-shirts and sweaters, and even a lunchbox and a signed vinyl.

“You guys!” Meghan exclaimed before joking: “I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her!”
“This is when I feel really old,” she then quipped.
Meghan then shouted out Billie as well as the people who helped to get the message to her, saying: “Huge thank you, Billie Eilish, this is going to mean so much to her, and honestly, to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line.”
“To everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much!” Meghan concluded.
She then expressed her excitement to share the good news with the fan’s mom, saying: “I’m going to go and email her mom now!”
Megan captioned the feel-good video: “Let’s keep supporting those affected by the California wildfires. Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes.”
A huge shoutout to Meghan for such a kindhearted and thoughtful gesture, and, of course, to Billie for going above and beyond — I’d love to be a fly on the wall when the fan receives all of this merch!
