Meghan Markle returns to the spotlight after 'sleepless night' with baby Archie
Meghan Markle has made a surprise return to the spotlight, just seven weeks after giving birth to royal baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Duchess of Sussex joined Prince Harry for London’s first Major League Baseball game on Saturday, as the initiative is a partner of the Invictus Games Foundation.
And while the couple were all smiles for the stadium’s packed crowd, the appearance reportedly came after a sleepless night for the proud parents.
Fellow new mum Bianca Rainbow-Jones met the royal pair during the event and told People the prince could empathise with the struggles of a restless little one.
“We talked babies! They said, ‘We’ve just left [the screaming] – we had that about an hour before we came here!’ ” she told the publication.
“Harry said they had a sleepless night.”
But while reality may have beckoned back at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes showed no signs of exhaustion and mingled with both the baseball players and injured veterans who attended on behalf of the Invictus Games.
In fact, Meghan was united with her 'cousin' Red Sox's star Mookie Betts at the game, after it was discovered they share ancestry dating back to Alabama 150 years ago.
The duchess looked effortlessly stylish in a belted Stella McCartney dress which she matched with a pair of black flats.
Baby Archie was also given a new look as both teams - the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox - each gifted him a custom-made mini jersey.
And while the couple’s are clearly showcasing their ability to be hands on parents, they have reportedly already gone through three nannies since Archie’s birth on May 6.
Meghan is expected to be on maternity from her offical royal duties for several more months, before the family embark on a tour of southern Africa.
