Yahoo Lifestyle Michelle Obama Will Not Attend Trump's Inauguration, And The Internet Is Here For It
Michelle Obama is an unbothered queen.
We already knew this, of course, and we love her for it.
During Jimmy Carter's funeral last week, everyone was in attendance, from our current leaders (President Joe Biden, first lady Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and second gentleman Doug Emhoff) to previous ones (Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W. and Laura Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald and Melania Trump).
Everyone but Michelle, that is! Her staffers said that our forever first lady was on an extended holiday vacation and couldn't attend due to scheduling conflicts. Priorities — I respect it.
Due to the seating arrangement, Michelle would've had to sit beside Trump. I would've stayed on vacation, too.
And now, Michelle's office has confirmed that she'll be skipping Trump's inauguration next week. Good for her!
While her staff didn't provide a reason, did they really need to?
Obviously, people are supporting Michelle's decision. Some people called her "all of us":
