Meghan Markle's Instagram Stories post; Princess Diana in London in 1996Meghan Markle appeared to make a nod to Princess Diana over the weekend after she wore the same purple college sweater her late mother-in-law dressed in to go to the gym in the last years of her life.
The Duchess of Sussex was in a purple Northwestern University crewneck as she shared a glimpse into her weekend activities in an Instagram Stories post on Sunday, Feb. 23. Meghan, 43, attended the college from 1999 to 2003.
Princess Diana, who died in 1997, had her sweater as a momento of her visit to the university in June 1996, two decades before Meghan even met her husband Prince Harry. Diana also toured the Chicago area where she met with students and stopped by a local hospital. The late royal was photographed wearing the garment, which she teamed with white biker shorts and sneakers, outside the Chelsea Harbour Club in London in 1996.
Also among Meghan's Instagram Stories posts on Sunday was a sweet moment featuring one of her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. As Meghan held a hose and watered the garden in the Californian sunshine, the hand of one of her children can be seen appearing and offering to take the hose.
The glimpse into her family life came as Meghan took some time off over the weekend and shared a video of herself walking in slippers in her backyard with the caption, "Small break from work to soak in the weekend ☀️."

It's a busy time for the Duchess, with her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan and her lifestyle brand As Ever both set to launch soon. The former actress' lifestyle show is set to air on March 4, with the trailer showing her performing various activities including cooking in a kitchen and arranging flowers at a shop.
And, in a nod to that perhaps, Meghan could be seen picking an orange and later squeezing it into a glass of fizz in more videos shared on her Instagram Stories.

Her time in her backyard also included taking in the "first blooms" of spring in the idyllic Californian weather and a walk with her beagle Mamma Mia, who she and Harry, 40, were revealed to have adopted in August 2022. Meghan’s original rescue beagle, Guy, died in January, she revealed. "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know. As ever, Meghan," she wrote in tribute on her website.

Meghan Markle prepping in the kitchen during her upcoming Netflix showAs the premiere episode of Meghan's show nears, actress Mindy Kaling shared a little about the one she takes part in and how she picked up some tips for throwing a children's party.
"I love cooking, but I’m really not good at entertaining," Kaling told TIME last week. "I don’t know anything about how you’re not supposed to use overhead lighting when people come over. You're supposed to use little lamps. But Meghan just knows how to do that stuff."
Kaling added of her input, "For kids’ parties, I usually just go to the party supply store and get paper things, which I don’t judge and neither does she. But it was fun to learn simple ways to do a homemade kids’ party."

"I’m shocked we’ve kept this a secret for so long. In two weeks, my show is coming out, which I’m so excited for. And also my business, which I think there has been a lot of curiosity about," Meghan said in an Instagram video on Feb. 18 as she announced As Ever.
She added, "As Ever essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do. And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can, so as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first."
"Of course, there will be fruit preserves; I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam. But there are so many more products that I just love, and now it's time to share them with you. So I just can’t wait for you to see it. Thanks, guys!" Meghan concluded in the Instagram post.
