Did Meghan make Prince Harry miss this important royal tradition?

Happy wife, happy life – or so the saying goes. And it looks like Prince Harry has really taken it to heart as he has seemingly skipped an important royal tradition all to appease his new wife Meghan Markle.

Last weekend, the royal family spent time holidaying at Balmoral Castle – one of the Queen’s favourite getaway spots – but one pair were noticeably absent.

One of the main activities, since way back in 1853, is the traditional royal grouse hunt, and Prince George made headlines when he somewhat controversially took part in his first hunt at age five.

His mum Kate Middleton was there, along with most of the Windsors, but Prince Harry was reportedly not present.

Harry is actually an avid hunter and did his first grouse hunt 21 years ago. But this year it seems he skipped the royal tradition, and it’s all because Meghan is an outspoken advocate for animal welfare, according to Express.

And it’s not the first time Harry has snubbed a hunt since Meghan arrived on the scene.

Back in December last year, shortly after the couple announced their engagement, Harry also skipped the Boxing Day hunt, a decision reportedly “stunned” the royal family, The Sun reports.

“Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting her, so be it,” a royal source told the publication.

“It’s fair to say that there are some pretty stunned faces around here.”
