What Megan Gale did differently at this year's Melbourne Cup
Megan Gale recently urged other women to embrace their bodies and not put too much pressure on themselves, especially after giving birth.
The 43-year-old model, who welcomed daughter Rosie May Dee just over a year ago, followed her own advice on Melbourne Cup day, saying “there was no pre-race regime” involving special diet or exercise.
She also celebrated a personal fashion first, confidently wearing a fit and flare princess gown, a style she’s never worn before to the races.
Her own fashion first
“I feel like a bit of a princess,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday. “It’s not often you get to wear a piece like this. I’ve actually never done this shape or silhouette or style before so it’s quite new for me.”
All eyes were on Megan when she arrived at the Lexus marquee in the Birdcage at Flemington Racecourse in the glistening Paolo Sebastian dress.
“He’s [Sebastian] done an amazing job. It’s part of a couture collection and his collaboration with Disney and layered over a beautiful Dion Lee top,” the mother of two added.
“It’s actually really comfortable. It doesn’t crease, it handles the wet weather well so it’s a very race-friendly dress.”
Model mum’s body confidence
Megan recently told her Instagram followers to “respect your body” and “not rush the process – lose weight and exercise too quickly” after giving birth.
“I’m definitely sticking true to that statement,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday.
Pre-race regime
While many celebs are known to accelerate their fitness routine and alter diet in the lead up to the racing carnival, Megan didn’t follow this pre-race trend.
“I just haven’t had time to be honest. I’ve been busy at the moment,” she explained.
“There was no pre-race regime or anything. It was just get ready on the day, it’s as simple as that.”
