Lindy Klim devastated she won't be spending Christmas with kids

Lindy Rama-Ellis, formerly known as Lindy Klim, welcomed her first child with husband Adam Ellis in December, but the mum-of-four will be having a very different Christmas this year.

The 39-year-old admits she has mixed feelings about the upcoming festive season as her three kids Stella, 12, Rocco, 9, and Frankie, 6, will be spending the holidays with their father Michael Klim.

“It’s a little bit sad as it’s my first year not having my three kids with me, first year not having them around on Christmas day,” Lindy tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“I have to share them with my ex-husband. I guess that is one of the causalities of divorce. But I have Adam and Goldie and we will make a beautiful day together.”

The Balinese Princess called time on her marriage to Michael in February 2016, and then became engaged to British property developer Adam in October of that year.

The exs now share 50/50 parenting duties of their three children, who split their time between Australia and Bali.

“We do a swap, so one person has the whole day one year. It’s a bit hectic, but we’ll have to celebrate another time,” she tells us.

“Nobody prepares you for co-parenting, it’s something where you keep learning every single day. It’s something you try to evolve, and you work on it, I don’t know if we’re quite there yet but we’re trying.”

A divorce is difficult enough without having to go through the separation in the public eye, and Lindy says she does have her “dark moments”.

“I was really fortunate to surround myself with really good people in my life especially my family and now my husband. He is a calm person in my life, I don’t know where I would be without him,” she says.

“I also took a step back and chose to keep my children out of the media and was silent for a lot of it because it’s a healing process for me that’s going on as well.”

Lindy was in the Pace Penthouse marquee at the 2018 Melbourne Cup on Tuesday after missing the event in 2017, pregnant at the time with daughter Goldie. The family are looking forward to celebrating the tot’s first birthday next month.

“It’s exciting. The other kids really want to have a big party,” Lindy says. “We did buy her first little outfit, a tutu thing, which my husband is desperate for her to wear on her birthday.”

Lindy and Michael Klim split after a decade of marriage.

When it comes to sharing the parenting duties, whether it’s between exes or current partners, Michael Klim previously told Yahoo Lifestyle the most important thing is communication.

“Having clarity and structure is important for the kids, so trying to have the best form of communication with your ex-partner does help a lot and it’s not always easy,” he says.
