Meg Ryan is opening about the special bond she shares with her 20-year-old daughter, Daisy True. In a new interview with The Sunday Times published this week, the actress shared rare insight into her relationship with Daisy, whom she adopted from China as a single parent in 2006, and gave an update on her life at college.

“I always thought I’d adopt, and at various points I was on the brink of it. But it was particular to Daisy, I guess," Meg explained of her motherhood journey. "I don’t know how events conspired to bring us together, but it was perfect.”

When the outlet suggested that she and Daisy were meant for each other like the main characters in the Nora Ephron romantic comedies she starred in (Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally—just to name a few), Ryan wholeheartedly agreed.

Daisy is currently a college sophomore, studying literature in New York City, but Ryan noted that she's "hoping to study in Bath one day." She added, “I’m a total anglophile and have this little London dream of living there one day."

Ryan is also a mom to son Jack Quaid, 32, whom she shares with her ex-husband Dennis Quaid. While speaking with People in October 2023, she revealed that while each child is "so different," both Jack and Daisy "are hilarious, they're smart, they are kind, they're interested in other people, they're curious about the world."

"I’m just so happy to know them, to be their mom," she added, “My kids have always been a blast. They’re the best hang...They’re so alive in their curiosity and interest in the world.”
