Meet the Designers Making Their New York Fashion Week Debuts This Season
New York Fashion Week is upon us, and while the six-day fashion extravaganza is speckled with industry icons like Tory Burch, Khaite and Michael Kors, there are, as always, a slew of newcomers to watch for Spring 2025.
Established names like Off-White and Toteme are both making their official stateside runway debuts, as are Michael Fausto and Salon 1884. Two emerging Finnish labels — Vain and Vitunleija — are also notable NYFW first timers, hosted by the Consul General of Finland. CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist Sebastien Ami and LVMH Prize semi-finalist Campillo are also names to watch.
Ahead, check out all of the designers making their NYFW debuts this season.
Campillo
Campillo — a menswear brand founded in 2017 by designer Patricio Campillo — finds influences in Charro culture, Mexican modernist architecture and "pre-Hispanic minimalism." A semi-finalist for the 2024 LVMH Prize, Campillo is rooted in its Mexican heritage with a focus on sustainable practices. Campillo will make its NYFW runway debut on Sept. 7.
Cotte D'Armes
With its first NYFW presentation on the CFDA calendar for Sept. 9, NYC-based brand Cotte D'Armes aims to blend denim's practicality with innovative designs. Under the helm of Creative Director Clarence Ruth, Cotte D'Armes recently collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, on a capsule collection worn by drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Ekouaer
Ekouaer aims to champion comfort with its sleepwear and loungewear offerings since its founding in 2015, and now, the brand will make its NYFW debut on Sept. 8. Revealing its minimalist fall line, the brand's runway show will feature a surprise guest model.
Michael Fausto
After training in the ateliers of Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa and Badgley Mischka, Michael Fausto launched his eponymous label in 2019. Now, the brand makes its CFDA calendar debut with a Spring 2025 collection titled Castellammare, to be shown on Sept. 10. The collection explores an Italian debutante's summer where her big-city style merges with the coastal aesthetic, thus juxtaposing the old and the new.
Off-White
Founded by the late Virgil Abloh in 2013, Off-White is officially making its NYFW calendar debut, after historically showing in Paris, with a runway show on Sept. 8. Now run by IB Kamara, Off-White is based in Milan and designs men's and women's clothing, along with accessories, homeware and kidswear.
Ronald van der Kemp
With a 25-year fashion career spanning positions at Bill Blass, Celine, Michael Kors, Guy Laroche and Barneys, Ronald van der Kemp launched his namesake label in 2014. The brand aims to center sustainability by employing existing and leftover materials into couture creations. Hailing from Holland, the label makes its NYFW runway debut on Sept. 11.
Salon 1884
In 2021, designer Andrea Mary Marshall founded Salon 1884, a New York City-based luxury clothing label named after the Parisian art exhibition known for unveiling John Singer Sargent's "Madame X." After launching exclusively through Neiman Marcus stores, Salon 1884 will show its latest collection at NYFW on Sept. 10.
Sebastien Ami
After previously showing at New York Men's Day, CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist Sebastien Ami will make its NYFW runway debut on Sept. 11. The Spring 2025 collection blends utilitarian designs with quality craftsmanship and is inspired by vintage aesthetics as well as the evolving beauty of well-loved objects. Sebastien Ami, which is spearheaded by designer Sebastien Amisial and co-directed with partner Marianne Amisial (watch our live interview with them here!), has been worn by celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny and Jack Harlow. It officially launched in 2020.
Toteme
Toteme, a Stockholm-based ready-to-wear label, was founded by husband-and-wife duo Elin Kling and Karl Lindman in 2014. With its emphasis on timeless, Scandi-inspired designs, the luxury brand will hold its first NYFW runway on Sept. 10.
Vain
Following debuts at Pitti Uomo and Copenhagen Fashion Week, Finnish fashion label Vain is now showing at NYFW for the first time at the Consul General of Finland's personal residence on Sept. 5. Founded by Creative Director Jimi Vain and CEO Roope Reinola, Vain recently collaborated with McDonald's to upcycle the fast-food chain's old work uniforms into a fashion collection.
Vitunleija
With graffiti-inspired garments and accessories along with a prominent social media presence, Finnish streetwear brand Vitunleija was founded by Bakari Diarra in 2018. Vitunleija is tapped into the local Finnish rap scene, and the label will show a seasonless collection for its NYFW debut, also at the Consul General of Finland's residence.
TWP
With fabrics sourced from Italy and garments manufactured in NYC, TWP — founded by Trish Wescoat Pound in 2021 — delivers luxury pieces with tailored, downtown elegance. TWP will unveil its Spring 2025 collection during its NYFW debut on Sept. 9.
