EmRata recreated JLo's iconic Versace plunging jungle dress moment
Celebrities have truly been coming through with their Halloween costumes, but this year's most popular trend? Celebs dressing up as other celebs.
We've seen Kylie Jenner go nude in ode to Demi Moore, Kendall Jenner channel Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton honour Britney Spears, Halle Bailey morph into Halle Berry, Ciara become Naomi Campbell, and Troye Sivan as Addison Rae during her Britney Spears Memoir Pap Walk™ (IYKYK) to name a few. Did you keep up? Good, because we haven't even got to our favourite yet.
Emily Ratajkowski recreating Jennifer Lopez's viral 2000 Grammys fashion moment. You know the one we're talking about. JLo arriving on the red carpet in the now-iconic plunging green Versace jungle dress. Here's the original look:
And here is EmRata's take:
From the green leafy print to the plunging neckline descending way past her belly button and even the jewelled brooch adornment, EmRata nailed it.
Reminder that this green dress was literally the reason Google Images was created, and JLo's stylist initially didn't want her to wear it. As she told Vogue, “It was a dress that other people had worn already. My stylist was like, ‘Please don't wear it. Somebody else has worn it.’ I was like, ‘Well, you bought it, and it looks the best, so I'm going to wear it.’ And so I did. And it caused quite a stir.” That's putting it mildly...
She added, “I guess every generation needs its iconic kind of Marilyn dress, and this is that dress for this generation. Why it became that? It was just a moment when the wind blew open, and I walked out onto the stage, and it just kinda happened.”
Iconic.
