Food blog Snackolator recently shared an Instagram post announcing the menu update, writing, "McDonald's just dropped a Squid Game MEAL with Dalgona Candy in Australia and... come on!"

He further included what the Squid Game-themed offering consists of: "This new meal features a 10pc Chicken McNuggets with exclusive Korean BBQ sauce, fries, a drink, and a Dalgona Candy."

For those unfamiliar, Squid Game is a South Korean survival thriller horror series about a secret contest where players risk their lives to play deadly children's games for a chance to win a large cash prize. It became wildly popular on Netflix after its 2021 release, becoming the streamer's most-watched series. Season 2 is set to drop on Dec. 26, 2024, with a third season already in the works for a 2025 release.

"If you haven't seen Squid Game, this is a candy where you have to break the shape out without cracking the shape... if you fail you are eliminated. So I have to assume that Grimace is going to track you down if you crack it, so you had better get it right!" the snack blog added to its social media post.

In the comments section, fans of the burger joint poured in with their reactions to the overseas special.

"This should definitely be in the U.S.," one insisted, while another wondered, "why does everywhere else get the best fast food 🤦‍♂️?"

"Not fair!! I want it to come to the states 😢🙌," a third lamented, as a fourth agreed, "The US never has cool stuff like this 😩."

"BRING THIS TO THE STATES PLEEEEEEEASE 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺," someone else emphatically begged.

Although there's no talk of U.S. availability, items like the Deluxe McCrispy chicken sandwich and S'mores McFlurry offered in other countries have induced just as much envy.
