McDonald’s is no stranger to a collaboration. It’s been working with brands for years to create Happy Meal toys and meals that spark joy amongst kids and adults alike. And, more recently, Mickey D’s has begun teaming up with real-life Golden Arches lovers to put their go-to order on the menu.

From the Cardi B & Offset Meal for Valentine’s Day 2023 to The BTS Meal that featured limited-time dipping sauces for your McNuggets, celeb-loved meals have been setting McDonald’s apart.

While a few celebrities have gotten their name on the McDonald’s menu, very few have been behind a whole new menu item. So, it seems Angel Reese is trailblazing the Mickey D’s meal as much as she is women’s basketball because the new Angel Reese Special features an all-new take on a McDonald’s classic.

Starting Feb. 10, McDonald’s will offer The Angel Reese Special, which features a new BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, medium fries, and a medium drink—Reese opts for Hi-C Orange Lavaburst, but you can choose your favorite beverage. The barbecue sauce on the Quarter Pounder is a newly revamped sauce that adds a bold, smoky, savory, slightly sweet flavor to the fan-favorite burger.

Mickey D’s has a long-standing partnership with athletes and basketball—it recently announced its 2025 All American Games Roster, an event that Reese participated in in 2020. While The Angel Reese Special marks McDonald’s first national meal collab with a female athlete, it’s not the first collaboration with a basketball star.

In the ‘90s, McDonald’s sold a Michael Jordan-backed McJordan Special burger, which looked pretty similar to the Angel Reese burger. The limited-run McJordan Special featured a 1/4-pound patty, cheese, bacon, onions, pickles, and barbecue sauce, which is essentially what Reese’s new BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese is—only it's with two slices of cheese and a reimagined barbecue sauce.

Hey, given that they both played in Chicago and are exceptional at their craft, it makes sense that Jordan and Reese would have similar tastes.

The Angel Reese Special meal will be available in the restaurant, drive-thru, and on the McDonald’s mobile app for a limited time. It won’t be around long, though, so you’ll want to head to McDonald’s before the buzzer.
