When it comes to making pasta dishes, I’ll be the first to admit that I turn to jarred pasta sauce on almost every occasion. Sure, homemade sauce is delicious, but, for me, nothing tastes as good as making an easy dinner feels. Plus, with so many delicious jarred pasta sauces on the market, most of the time the store-bought options taste nearly identical to homemade anyway.

Everyone knows that Rao’s Homemade is one of the best quality pasta sauces on the market—and one that many people consider worth the splurge in price. However, I recently discovered a new pasta sauce brand that gives Rao’s Homemade a run for its money in unique flavors.

In 2024, I was introduced to Sauz and its four flagship sauce flavors, Hot Honey Marinara, Summer Lemon, Creamy Calabrian Vodka, and Wild Rosemary Marinara. The brand was created in 2023 and rolled out to Target stores nationwide in late 2024—along with an exclusive sauce flavor, Cracked Pepper & Parmesan.

I fell in love with the brand and its high-quality jarred sauces because of the delicious and out-of-the-box flavors that take simple pasta dishes to a new level. Now, Sauz is expanding again—both in its flavor portfolio and availability.

Sauz Expands Retailer Availability and Introduces 2 New Flavors

Beginning this month, Sauz is rolling out at Whole Foods and Sprouts stores nationwide. The retailer expansion will bring three of the four original sauce varieties to the stores—as well as introduce two new, exclusive flavors. Sauz will now sell its Hot Honey Marinara, Summer Lemon, and Wild Rosemary Marinara at all Whole Foods and Sprouts stores, as well as new Miso Garlic and Brown Butter Alfredo sauces exclusively at Whole Foods.

Sauz’s Miso Garlic Marinara sauce is the first-ever Asian-Italian pasta sauce and is made with white miso paste, black garlic, and ginger for an umami-rich flavor.

Its Brown Butter Alfredo is the brand’s first time releasing an Alfredo sauce, and it’s made with sage and brown butter for a nutty, creamy, and rich result.

Both new flavors have soft-launched at Whole Foods this week and will continue rolling out to its 520 stores nationwide. The three OG flavors are also hitting both Whole Foods' and Sprouts' shelves now.

As one of our favorite pasta sauce brands is continuing to grow its retailer availability, we also hope that means it will keep coming up with new flavors to make mealtime extra enjoyable.
