McDonald's announces Tim Tam collab and the return of a fan favourite item

When it comes to history's great love affairs, Australia's affection for the Tim Tam is right up there. The iconic biscuit has a special place in our hearts and now McDonald's is letting us appreciate it in a whole new way, with the just-announced Tim Tam McFlurry.

Part of the fast-food giant's summer menu, the dessert features chocolate soft serve, crunchy Tim Tam biscuit pieces and smooth milk chocolate Tim Tam sauce. Unsurprisingly, fans are already salivating over the concept, with one commenting on Facebook, "Bring on summer!".

McRib makes long-awaited return

But Macca's lovers are even more excited about the return of the chain's most requested item ever: the McRib. Returning to menus for the first time since 2020, this cult fave consists of a boneless pork patty dipped in BBQ McRib Sauce, pickles, slivered onions and two toasted buns.

Adding to the excitement, the wildly popular burger is also getting an upgrade with the introduction of the McRib Deluxe. This super-sized version includes all the ingredients of the McRib with the addition of cheese, lettuce, tomato and creamy McChicken sauce.

"Our fans have asked, and we have delivered — one of our most talked about burgers is back, with the McRib here to kickstart summer with Macca's this year," Samantha McLeod, Marketing Director of McDonald's Australia said.

Chicken Big Mac also back on the menu

Another burger returning by popular demand is the Chicken Big Mac. Fans can hardly contain their excitement over this announcement, with one writing simply, "Chicken Big Mac baby!". This summer, McDonald's customers can also snack on Onion Rings with BBQ Sauce

The final addition to the new range is a Frozen Coke, which McDonald's claims was co-created by artificial intelligence. The AI developed treat is said to give Aussies a taste of the future with a brand new Coca-Cola flavour "from the Year 3000".

The summer menu items are available across McDonald's restaurants nationwide, via the MyMacca's app and McDelivery from November 29, for a limited time only.
