MasterChef's Andy Allen shares heartbreaking message to Jock Zonfrillo
The TV star shared a memory that makes him 'happy and sad all in one'.
MasterChef judge Andy Allen has shared a series of unseen wedding snaps on social media to celebrate his one-year anniversary, including a heartbreaking message to his late friend and colleague Jock Zonfrillo.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening, Andy posted a photo of himself sitting next to Jock and radio host Dylan Alcott at his wedding.
“Knowing that you were there to see us tie the knot makes me happy and sad all in one,” he captioned the snap.

Jock’s widow Lauren Fried, who has been managing his social accounts since his shock death in May, re-shared the post on his Instagram alongside a congratulatory message to Andy and his wife Alex.
“Happy 1st wedding anniversary Andy & Alex,” she wrote. “We flew back from Italy to be part of your wedding, so grateful we did. Loz.”
Andy's emotional tribute to Jock
The world was rocked by Jock’s passing earlier this year, with the Scottish-born chef found dead at 2am in Melbourne on May 1 after police received a call requesting a “welfare check”.
The MasterChef season 15 premiere was delayed for a short time before the network and Jock's family confirmed his final season would air in tribute to him.
Andy, who grew extremely close with Jock since they became MasterChef judges in 2020, shared an emotional tribute to his co-star on social media shortly after his death was announced.
“When I met you 5 years ago I knew our lives were about to change forever. What I didn't realise is how close Alex and I would become outside of the kitchen with you, Lauren and your kids,” he wrote.
“You've become such an inspirational and important part of our lives. Sure, you've taught me so much about food, but it's the lessons I learnt about what it means to be a great father, husband and friend that I'll take away from our time together and will last forever.”
He continued: “I'll miss the way you mentored me and every contestant that walked into the MasterChef kitchen, I'll miss you ordering the entire menu no matter how many dishes deep and making me eat every last bite, I'll miss your morning on-set coffees that made me shake from the amount of caffeine you were able to extract out of every individual bean, I'll miss the morning FaceTimes with Loz, Alfie and Isla, but overall I'll miss you looking out for me every single day. Thanks for making me constantly laugh and being there when I needed to cry.”

Andy ended the post describing Jock as “the complete package” and said, “Life will never be the same without you”.
“I know you’ll be looking down on Loz, Ava, Sophia, Alfie & Isla. Give it up for Jock Zonfrillo,” he concluded.
