‘Married at First Sight’ Moves to Peacock, Lands Massive Three-Season Order

“Married at First Sight” is on the move. After a competitive situation, the relationship show has found a new home at Peacock, where it will stream for at least three seasons — 19, 20 and 21.

The series first debuted in 2014 on FYI, also airing on A&E for Season 2. In 2017, it moved to Lifetime beginning with Season 5. There have been more than 200 episodes of “Married at First Sight” and multiple spinoffs, including “Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island,” “Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After,” “Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam” and “Married at First Sight: Unmatchables.” There are currently 30 versions of the series internationally, and Season 18 is currently airing on Lifetime on Tuesdays.

The show follows singles searching for their life partner, who are matched via relationship experts. The duo meet for the first time at the altar; after saying “I do,” they spend their wedding night together, then embark on a honeymoon with the other newlywed couples. For eight weeks, they get to know one another and then must decide to stay married or get divorced.

Kinetic Content, a North Road company, is the production company behind “Love Is Blind,” the most popular unscripted series on Netflix, as well as Netflix’s “The Ultimatum” and ABC’s “Claim to Fame.” Since its launch, “Married at First Sight” has been the top series on Lifetime, ranking more than 50% higher than any other show on the network.

“We don’t take the opportunity to make these shows for granted, and I think that pays off,” Kinetic CEO Chris Coelen told Variety in 2023. “It’s really, really hard and time consuming, but ultimately, I think the quality of our storytelling stands up against any series — scripted or non-scripted. I’m really proud of the shows we do and the way we produce them.”

Meanwhile, Peacock has seen success with unscripted recently, specifically with “The Traitors,” “Love Island USA” and “Paris & Nicole: The Encore.”
