MAFS star Martha Kalifatidis spills on 'wild' reunion
The Married at First Sight reunion special is mere hours away and Martha Kalifatidis has promised it is going to be “wild”.
The MAFS alumn, who took part in the reunion alongside partner Michael Brunelli, spoke to Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny on Friday morning about the special, that sees the return of some of the most controversial and talked about participants of past MAFS seasons.
“It’s wild, is that shocking for you guys? It’s wild!” she told the hosts, adding that she actually remained sober the entire time during filming.
“I didn’t drink at all, just thought, you know what I’ve learnt my lesson, like don’t drink on reality TV, hot tip.”

The infamous wine-throwing incident between Martha and Cyrell was also brought up, with Martha confirming she doesn’t “do that anymore”, but indeed “there might have been a wine pour” again.
She also said for most of the filming the participants were kept separated until they brought them together after “hours and hours and hours”.
“It’s just me and Michael or most people are alone and we are finally brought to the dinner table and everyone starts going for it at the dinner table, that’s it,” she said.
“It’s like hours and hours and hours of the day and literally in the last 30 minutes that the cameras are rolling it all goes down and then we go home.”
Martha and Michael are one of the only remaining success stories from the show.
The duo has turned their MAFS fame into a profitable Instagram pairing, with Martha boasting just shy of 350k followers, and Michael leaving his job as a teacher to launch his personal training business.
The duo is as loved up as ever but couldn’t resist dipping their toes in the drama while they were participants in the show, so we’re sure they’ll well and truly spice up the proceedings if they are indeed returning.
MAFS' Jess Power on 'traumatic' reunion clash with Cyrell Paule
Give what we’ve already heard about the Grand Reunion special, Martha’s ‘wild’ description sounds pretty accurate.
Fellow participant Jessika Power is involved in a ‘traumatic’ clash with co-star Cyrell while filming the upcoming the special back in December 2020.
She recently opened up about the incident saying, she cried twice during the two-night shoot.
“I got to see and watch back our time on our season. Watching it all back gave me quite a bit of emotion, and I was a little bit upset,” she said in a candid Q&A session with her followers on Instagram Stories.
The pair came to blows when Cyrell ended up pouring a glass of wine over Jess’ white frock, after accusing her of saying ‘nasty things’ about her partner, Love Island’s Eden Dally, and their son.
Back in early January, Cyrell admitted to throwing a glass of wine over Jessika in a series of heated Instagram Stories posts and while the promo didn’t reveal the climactic moment it was clear tensions were high.
The Married At First Sight Grand Reunion Special airs on Channel nine tonight (Sunday) and continues Monday.
