Tom Ford is stepping into the director’s chair again, and this time he’s got a very A-list producer backing him, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Ford’s second film – following on from the much-acclaimed A Single Man in 2009, starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore – will be titled Nocturnal Animals. It’s a psychological slow-burning thriller about a woman who receives a manuscript from her ex-husband of 20 years, telling the story of a family vacation gone sour. The story is adapted from a novel by American author Austin Wright called Tony and Susan.

Ford wrote the script himself (as he did for A Single Man) and George Clooney has signed on to produce the film, which has echoes of Gone Girl and Before I Go To Sleep. No cast members have been announced just yet.

This dynamic duo of Ford and Clooney might be one of the most powerful (and good-looking) in cinema. With Ford’s sharp, fashion-forward aesthetic and Clooney’s Hollywood clout (Clooney has won Oscars both for his acting, for Syriana in 2006, and as a producer in 2013, when he took home a Best Picture Oscar for the Ben Affleck-helmed Argo), this film has serious awards season potential.

If nothing else, we can look forward to Amal Clooney wearing an array of Tom Ford dresses during the press tour.
