EXCLUSIVE, UPDATED with Zero Gravity’s legal response: Jake Miller and Karli Doumanis have joined production/management company 42 as talent managers, sources tell Deadline. Based in Los Angeles, they come from Zero Gravity Management.

Both are bringing their client rosters, which include one of the hottest actors at the moment, Anna Sawai, who won an Emmy on Sunday for Shōgun and also stars in Apple TV+’s Pachinko. She is managed by Miller.

The duo, whose first day is Monday, is expected to ramp up actor representation at the U.S. operation of the London- and Los Angeles-based 42, minority owned by Lionsgate. The Los Angeles office, led by 42 partners Josh Varney and Ben Pugh, has been more lit-focused to date.

In response to Miller’s departure, Zero Gravity Management has sent a cease and desist letter to 42 through attorney Robert M. Barta, claiming that Miller is under contract through December 31, 2025, and that they intend to seek a preliminary injunction prohibiting him from working for the competitor.

In addition to Varney and Pugh, the 42 leadership includes fellow partners Kate Buckley, Cathy King and Simon Beresford as well as COO David O’Donoghue.

Doumanis had been at Zero Gravity for over a year. Before that, she spent three years at Brave Artists Management.
