A Major Award Show Is "Pulling Out All the Stops" to Get Kate Middleton to Make a Red Carpet Appearance
Kate Middleton has started doing more public events since completing her preventative chemotherapy in September of last year, and apparently she could show up at the BAFTAs in February.
The awards show has reportedly been "pulling out all the stops" and "throwing everything at securing" Kate's presence on the red carpet this year, and film committee chairman Anna Higgs is "very hopeful" she'll attend with Prince William (who, reminder, is the BAFTA's president).
"Bafta has close ties with William and Kate and is pulling out all the stops to try to secure Kate's presence at this year's awards," a source tells the Daily Mail. "It sent her warmest wishes when she revealed her cancer diagnosis and hopes she will appear alongside William in what will be her big showbiz return since she's been in recovery. Anything Bafta can do to work around Kate, it will do. William and Kate love to watch the nominated films beforehand and we know Kate enjoys meeting those working in the film industry. We have been told that she wouldn't want to miss it, so she's hoping to be there with William."
Kate missed the BAFTAs last year due to her cancer diagnosis, and was last on the award show's red carpet in 2023, when she showed up in a white gown and dramatic black gloves.
Meanwhile, her first BAFTAs was back in 2011!
