Lopez is being honored in recognition of her accomplished multi-hyphenate career that includes work across film, television, music and more, including her turn in the drama “Unstoppable.” Following her breakout role as the eponymous music icon in “Selena,” Lopez forged a formidable film career across all genres, and has continued to find particular success in rom-coms.

“Jennifer Lopez is more than a multi-threat talent, first breaking through decades ago as a dancer, then establishing herself as one of the music world’s top artists and one of the film world’s most popular and acclaimed actors,” said Variety Executive Vice President of Content Steve Gaydos. “This year, she again reminds film fans of her acting prowess and range in the powerful, inspiring awards contender, ‘Unstoppable.’”

In addition to presenting Lopez with her award, Fiennes will be honored alongside the rest of the cast of “Conclave,” which won the Fest’s Ensemble Performance Award.

“’Conclave’ is a thought-provoking drama, one which delivers edge-of-your-seat suspense by way of its outstanding ensemble of actors including Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Lucian Msamati and Isabella Rossellini,” said Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi. “Together, they deliver powerful and multi-layered performances in Edward Berger’s film that will mesmerize audiences throughout this award season.”
