MAFS' Tahnee reveals biggest factor that led to her break-up with Ollie

Married At First Sight’s Tahnee Cook has opened up about her relationship with Ollie Skelton and revealed the reason behind their shock split late last year. The pair found love on last year’s season of the reality show, where they were one of the strongest couples in the experiment, and stayed together for 16 months before going their separate ways.

During an appearance on Yahoo Lifestyle’s Behind the Edit podcast, Tahnee admitted that she and Ollie “clashed on a lot of things outside of the experiment” which led to the downfall of their relationship.

“The stuff that we perhaps thought we were on the same page with during that time, in the real world we discovered that we weren’t. And that unfortunately doesn’t work out in a real-world situation,” she explained.

“I think when you're in the experiment and you're kind of going about your day with no control and you don't have your job, you’re just doing what the producers say, it’s very different than having a job, having a house, all of that stuff. So I feel like [we were] clashing in those certain areas and lifestyle things.”

Tahnee went on to share that she’s not sure if she’s ready to start dating again, but she has an idea of what she’s looking for in her next relationship.

“I want to date but then I'm like, no I don’t,” she said with a laugh. “Going into MAFS I was already having such a bad time with the online dating space and I hated it, and I really don't want to be doing that again. So now I’m like, what do I do?

“I think I just want someone that is all about me. Someone that accepts me, what I do, my career, what I want out of life, and is supportive of that. Just someone that champions me and someone that's going to be by my side through this crazy ride called life.”

Ollie reveals why he and Tahnee called it quits

Ollie previously opened up about his split from Tahnee on his podcast Tosser late last year and said the reason why things ended was simply because they discovered they weren’t compatible.

“I think Tahnee has some great qualities and I have so much respect for her and I still have love for Tahnee but at our core, we are just really, really different,” he said.

“Different not just in likes and hobbies, it's not just in values, it's not just in how we navigate our issues, but our wants, our beliefs.”

He then said as the couple spent more time together they realised it was “OK” they were different, saying they had both fallen out of love with a “multitude of factors” contributing to that.
