MAFS star unrecognisable in old photos: 'Not how I imagined you'

Married at First Sight star Selina Chhaur has shocked fans with throwback photos where she looks completely unrecognisable.

Jumping on the TikTok Teenage Dirtbag trend, where people share photos of themselves now and from their teenage years, Selina stunned with a series of old snaps.

The TikTok started with her smiling in the video, before showing a snap of herself wearing a shirred strapless dress, posing with a chunky belt and looking sweet with her hair done with 90s butterfly clips.

Selina poked fun at herself in the caption for the clips, flared jeans and chunky belts before fans shared their thoughts on her glow-up.

"This is not at all how I imagined you to be like," one said before Selina responded, "I can't stop laughing at my photos".

Another commented the photos were "adorable" while others described them as "beautiful" and "cute".

Following MAFS, Selina underwent a dramatic transformation, dyeing her blonde hair back to her natural shade of brown and ditching her blue contact lenses.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Selina said she had been holding onto a lot of trauma from her childhood.

“I got bullied quite a bit when I was younger because I was different, and bullying doesn't just mean people yell at you or push you around. Bullying can actually just be like blatantly leaving someone out and making them feel excluded because they’re different, and that's what I experienced a lot as a child," she said.

“After MAFS I went home, did a lot of reflecting and I was like, you know what? I’m going to embrace my natural look. I love being Asian and I love my culture and I’m proud, so I want to represent!”

Selina added when she went out she felt pressure to wear her blue contacts, because she did not feel beautiful or confident without them.

“I thought having blonde hair and blue eyes was attractive and I only felt beautiful when I had my blue contacts in and when I had my freshly done blonde hair. It’s just been so empowering and liberating to go back to my natural roots. I’m loving it," she said.
