MAFS star Jess' brother says Mick showdown could've turned ugly

After making some offensive comments about Jessika’s father and brother, MAFS groom Mick Gould had to face the music during tonight’s episode.

The 31-year-old came clean about calling his wife’s dad Troy a ‘drunk’ and brother Rhyce a ‘ f***head’, and unsurprisingly the confrontation didn’t go down all too well.

When speaking to producers after the dinner, Jess’ brother admitted it was quite a feat for him and Troy to remain composed after hearing about Mick’s comments.

“Me and my dad are very hot-tempered people,” he explained.

“It took a lot for us to both sit there and take it as it is, but I’m glad for everyone’s sake at the table that we did.”

At the beginning of the confrontation, Troy didn’t hold back when speaking to Mick.

“Well, I think you’re a f***wit,” he said, before storming out of the room where both Jess and Mick’s families had come together for a meal.

Jess, who has decided to stay in the competition just so she can secretly hook up with Dan, immediately went into damage control mode.

“I know my father and I’m daddy’s little girl,” she said in a piece-to-camera.

“My dad will always protect me. I need to play nice now because if I show that I have been upset, my dad would kick off.

“I’m just grateful we got to have this dinner with all the people we love,” she then said at the dinner table.

Meanwhile Jess’ dad, who told producers he thought of his son-in-law as “Mick the prick”, had now come back into the dining room.

“I did get a bit too drunk at the wedding,” Rhyce firstly said.

“And like I said, that was first impressions and my impressions have changed since talking to Jess and everything like that,” Mick responded.

“I probably did have a few too many beers, but I was nervous as s*** mate,” Jess’ dad then confessed.

Rhyce then tried to put the conflict to rest, saying, “First impressions are first impressions.

“That’s why it’s good to have all these family dinners and that kind of stuff.”
