'I hate him': MAFS star Jess in tears after Mick's 'disgusting' remarks
There’s the old saying that when you get married, you’re not only marrying your partner, but also their family.
But it seems MAFS star Mick didn’t quite take this into consideration during tonight’s episode, even after Jess had met his own loved ones during the home visit.
The 31-year-old used some offensive language to describe his wife’s father, brother, sister and best friend, and Jess was understandably distraught, labelling her husband “disgusting”.
“Last night you really, really upset me,” the 26-year-old said while crying.
“I understand my family, that you think they were rude and I agree with you, I feel like a few of them were rude at the wedding. But to bring it up to your wife when I’ve been so adamant from the day one how important my family is…” she continued.
“I’ve had a massively rough upbringing and I know how my family is but to hear that you think my sister’s a [expletive] and my best friend’s a [expletive] and my brother’s a f***head and my dad’s a drunk, is so f*****g rude and I can’t believe you’d do that to me.”
Highlighting just how big of an issue this was, Jess said this incident entirely changes how she feels about the relationship.
“I was so set on you Mick. I was so set on you,” she said. “The fact that you’ve done that has completely turned me off this whole situation. It’s so disrespectful and I would never do that to you.
“Do you not at all feel bad?”
“I didn’t think you’d react like that,” Mick responded.
“I thought you would’ve just said, ‘Oh yeah yeah I know but they said they were going to make it up at the home stay or whatever’.
“I was hoping they would change my opinion on them and I’d pretty well guarantee they would’ve.”
Jess then asked why he decided to criticise her family in the first place in that case, and Mick said he was just stating the ‘facts’.
“At the wedding your dad was a drunk and your brother was a f***head,” he said.
“I do not give a s***. It’s like you don’t sit there, you say that about someone else’s family, it’s f*****g disgusting. You are disgusting!”
“You don’t need to pinpoint my family’s problems to me when I know. I’ve been brought up around it my whole life… I’ve dealt through it. I’ve lived through it, not you.”
Clearly upset and frustrated, Jess had reached her breaking point.
“I just don’t want to do it anymore,” she wept.
And it seems Mick wasn’t keen either as he walked off to talk to his mate because they were “just beating around the bloody bush here”.
Earlier on in the season, Jess opened up about her family.
Lucky to have such a loving big brother 🙌🏻💋 @rhycepower24

“Growing up, I didn’t have the best upbringing,” she said.
“My mum and my dad divorced when I was one and then my mum moved to Western Australia, because she said it was the furthest away she could get from him. I didn’t have a strong father figure when I needed it the most growing up. That was hard.”
She also told TV Week magazine that she doesn’t speak to her biological mother.
“Me and Mum don’t talk,” Jess told the publication.
Haha found this in the photo album #brothersister #spunkymonkeys #thatfringe😱

“All we did was argue. So one day, I just turned around and was like, ‘Let’s just cut it.’ Ever since then, I’ve been a lot happier.”
