'The f***ing truth': MAFS Poppy hits out in explosive Facebook rant
We’ve just watched MAFS bride Poppy leave controversial reality series Married at First Sight after deciding to quit the social experiment just two weeks in.
But while the mum of two has copped much heat for leaving her TV husband Luke ‘devastated’ she has hit back at people trolling her in an explosive rant posted publicly on her Facebook page.
“Thanks to everyone that actually knows me for their messages of support. I understand people are reacting to what they see on TV but but they see 1% of what actually goes on in the show,” she starts out.
Poppy goes on to slam her husband Luke, claiming he was ‘fake on camera’ and a ‘complete dickhead’ behind the scenes.
“It was infuriating,” she wrote, adding that she was apparently not allowed to talk about ‘what really happened’ on camera as it was ‘too controversial’.
The post has sparked a huge response, going viral with over 10k comments in the three hours since it was published on Tuesday.
“I’m not some whinging little weak person that is going to be silenced. I’m standing up for the f***ing truth,” she ends the post.
Poppy cops heat for leaving Married at First Sight
Poppy received heavy backlash on social media for her ‘super disappointing’ move in leaving the social experiment.
Despite saying she ‘didn’t want to leave on bad terms’ or ‘give up too easily’ it fell to a MAFS producer to inform Luke that Poppy had left him, leaving viewers outraged.
“That’s super disappointing! Poppy did not try at all. I really feel for Luke, that’s got to be a kick in the guts. What a letdown,” one wrote.
“I’m sorry but Poppy knew what she was doing when she applied for the show, she knew that she would have to leave her children! Poor Luke didn’t deserve to be messed around like that! She didn’t even say goodbye or sorry to him!” said another.
MAFS stars rally around Luke Eglin
Several of Luke’s former castmates took to the comments section of his most recent Instagram post, which featured a photo of the gold wedding band he’d left on a bed before departing the programme.
“I’m excited to meet you.....one day,” he captioned the mournful snap.
“All the best legend,” wrote Mikey Pembroke, who is married to Natasha Spencer.
“Lots of love,” said Jonethen Musulin while his wife Connie Crayden posted a single blue love heart.
Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Poppy and Luke for comment.
