MAFS' Martha Kalifatidis shares heartbreaking news: 'Miss you'
"I have no words to describe the sadness and heartache."
MAFS' Martha Kalifatidis has taken to Instagram to share the heartbreaking loss of her grandfather, with the former reality star sharing several snaps of her beloved papou along with a sweet story.
"Last week my beautiful papou passed away. I have no words to describe the sadness and heartache instead I want to share a story," she wrote.
"A few weeks ago Telstra sent someone out to fix the wifi at my grandparents house. Papou had just been to the market and brought home pizza. He offered the technician pizza, 'don’t be shy, you need to eat'. The man politely declined so papou went to his garden and potted a small chilli plant so the man could take home because he mentioned he liked chilli," Martha shared. "Anyways that was him. So generous. He treated this stranger like an old friend. He spread kindness everywhere he went. If you knew him, you adored him."

Martha described her grandfather as "the most loving, caring, sweet, romantic, funny, and (sometimes brutally) honest man".
"He did everything for us," she added. "He taught us to live life to the fullest. I miss you already. Love you forever my beautiful papouli."
Martha's fiancé and fellow former MAFS star also shared a sweet tribute, sharing a photo of him with their son Lucius.
"I'm so glad you got to meet Lucius, but more so that he got to be held by you," Michael wrote. "I can't wait to tell him about you, the kindhearted person you were, your selflessness, your caring nature and your jokes. I'll tell him how much you loved your family, how devoted you were to ensuring everyone was happy and fed well! I can only hope Lucius takes a part of you with him in life and grows to have the same values as you did."
He continued, "I'll miss seeing you every Monday Papou, knowing how happy it made you to see the family together. I know you'll always be watching over everyone. Rest well."
Michael also shared a sweet snap of Martha, her grandfather and himself at their MAFS wedding, adding, "Thank you for welcoming me into the family from day 1! As crazy as it was to everyone, you pulled me aside to tell me that in fact 'arranged marriages' can work and lead to a happy life, because you'd been through it. It was a comment that helped me calm down and relax into the experience, and something I'll never forget as our first interaction."
Friends and fans shared support for Martha on her post, with Kayla Itsines writing, "I’m so sorry my girl! I can’t even imagine the pain you and the family are feeling right now. He looks the MOST fun!! I love these photos!"
"Sounds like a wonderful man," Brittany Hockley said.
"Sending love," Michael 'Wippa' 'Wipfli wrote.
