MAFS’ Martha reveals Covid symptom that won’t go away: ‘What’s the point?’

Almost a week after revealing that she had tested positive for Covid-19, Martha Kalifatidis has opened up about the one symptom that won’t go away.

The Married At First Sight star, who spent her last day in home isolation with her fiancé Michael Brunelli on Sunday, took to Instagram over the weekend to update her fans.

“Last night I finally got to sleep. I had like, a solid eight hours of sleep and I feel so much better today, but I have lost my taste,” she said while lying on her bed.

Martha explained that she, Michael and her mother, Big Brother star Mary Kalifatidis, had a barbecue for dinner the previous night but she couldn’t taste a thing.

“They were enjoying it, they even had a Cornetto (ice cream) for dessert. I didn't have one obviously because I couldn’t taste it,” she said.

“Do you still eat if you can't taste? I don't get it. I'm not going to eat a Cornetto, because I can't taste it. What’s the point of consuming the calories?”

The Swipe Up podcast host went on to say that despite her frustrating symptom, she’s finally starting to feel like herself again.

Martha’s Instagram Story comes shortly after Michael - who previously said that he was testing his sense of taste daily by eating barbecue flavoured Shapes - shared a video on his social media of the pair engaging in a fight.

“If you pan over to me you’re going to literally have a black eye,” the Celebrity Apprentice star told her partner after he started filming himself.

“She’s angry because she lost her taste and I got to have a barbecue last night. She couldn’t taste a thing,” he told his followers, before adding sarcastically, “So it’s going to be a good year.”

‘Covid sucks’

Martha and Michael revealed last week that they had tested positive for Covid-19 just a few days after returning home to Sydney after their whirlwind post-engagement trip to America.

“Covid sucks, it is so f**king s**t,” Martha detailed on Instagram. “Some people are like, ‘Oh it's just a cold’. It is just a virus, but it is a pretty s**t one. Michael actually got hit really hard with it.

“So there's actually like a sore throat, chest burning, nausea, vomiting, fever and then chills. If you can avoid this, avoid it. You don’t want to get Covid, especially now when it's the holidays.”
