MAFS' Jules Robinson denies 'dumping' Mel Lucarelli as bridesmaid

Married at First Sight newlywed Jules Robinson has again addressed her feud with co-star Mel Lucarelli, after the latter was axed from bridesmaid duties prior to their second - and official - wedding.

Speaking to KIIS FM Intern Pete at the 2019 ARIA awards red carpet, Jules revealed she was upset at her former friend and co-star Mel’s use of the word ‘dumped’, when revealing she would no longer be in the bridal party.

“Even the word dumping is not something, I wouldn’t talk like that Pete,” she said when asked about the incident.

During the televised coverage of her wedding and preparations for A Current Affair recently, Jules was also asked by the program about her well-aired wedding party drama.

“Do you know what, in response to that question, all that matters is my nearest and dearest are here right now,” she responded.

Mel’s thoughts

Ultimately, Mel ended up being a complete no-show on her ex-pal’s big day and took to Instagram early on Monday morning to explain why.

“Yes the rumours are true,” she said, “Yes Jules dumped me as a bridesmaid. No I wasn’t at the wedding event of the year”.

Adding a little more context in a video on her Instagram stories, Mel explained that she still doesn’t know why she was dropped from the bridal party, saying Jules, “kept changing her reasons and none of it made sense.”

“It just came out of the blue and yeah, I didn’t see it coming at all,” she continued.

“Of course, you’re allowed to change your mind about who you want as a bridesmaid but I just feel like the way it was done was really cold and rather hurtful, especially doing it so close to the actual wedding day.”

The lavish nuptials she refers to took place in Sydney and saw Jules marry her onscreen husband Cam Merchant for real—a first for the match making series.

Jules wore a Cinderella-style gown to marry her Prince Charming, before changing into a more figure-hugging, patterned design, after their reception at Alpha restaurant in the CBD.

Among their guests were co-stars Nic Jovanovic, who arrived with a guest, and Heidi Latcham, who was dressed in a white dress and acted as a bridesmaid.
