MAFS' Jason apologises for 'gross' homophobic rant about co-star
A video of Married At First Sight's Jason Engler, Georgia Fairweather and Johnny Balbuziente went viral this week for all the wrong reasons.
Jason, who is partnered with Alana Lister on the show, is heard in the video taking aim at bisexual groom Liam Cooper, using 'gross' homophobic language about his fellow participant.
The video, which was originally uploaded to Georgia's Instagram Stories and later shared by the So Dramatic! podcast this week, was reportedly filmed in November last year, just three days before the couples on the show made their final vows to each other.

It seemingly makes it clear that Georgia and Liam do not end up together after the experiment.
In the video, Jason calls Liam a "full-blown homosexual", despite the fact Liam is bisexual, and even body shames him.
Jason, who is seen shirtless and wearing two pairs of sunglasses, begins the video by saying: "Cheers to everyone. Can I just say one thing right now?
"He is not one hundred and ten per cent anymore… I wouldn't give a s**t anymore, because we're free and we're going to run amok in Brisbane," he tells the camera incoherently.
"Jason, tell them what you're talking about," Georgia tells him.
"Can I say Georgia's husband, a**, w**ker, I can't remember what his name is - Liam - is 110 per cent and is a w**ker and Georgia is better than him," he says. "He's ugly, fat, and he is chubby."
"I'm by the pool and just want to say Georgia's husband is full-blown homosexual. He is ugly and chubby and doesn't go to the gym," the reality star continues.
Johnny then asks, "You're bi-what?… bisexual?" in reference to Liam's sexuality.
Seemingly unable to stop, Jason then goes on to say, "He hasn't gone to the gym in 64 years. Georgia is way hotter than him and he is batting way above his average.
"She can't wait to say shut your mouth and get out of here you chubby little w**ker in a couple of days [at the final vows] and that's all I have to say about that."
Rather than urging him not to say those things, Johnny tells Jason not to post the video.
According to the Daily Mail, a source close to Liam has revealed he was "absolutely betrayed and heartbroken" after watching the video, which was reportedly brought up at the reunion filmed in February.
The video took a big toll on Liam, with sources telling the publication he has "struggled mentally" and "lost a lot of weight" because of it.
Jason apologised for the comments, telling the publication, "I would like to sincerely apologise for my comments in regards to a fellow MAFS participant's sexuality."
"After a few too many drinks I made some inappropriate remarks that I am ashamed of and greatly regret. I will learn from this and try to become a better person from this experience."
Social media users have called the video "gross" and "pathetic", with many saying how disappointed they are in the reality stars.
"This is appalling. The three of them are vile," former MAFS bride Tash Herz wrote.
"This guy's almost 40 and acting like this??? Pathetic," one user wrote.
"Can’t believe I thought he was alright at the start. Put him in the bin," another said.
"The fact that Johnny and Georgia are supporting this, don’t speak up to tell him to stop, and acknowledge how bad it is by saying ‘don’t post that’ is f***ing disgusting," someone else wrote. "They should all be held accountable for this disgusting display. Jason is a dog and I’m glad his bullshit at least exposes others who condone it."
Kerry Knight, Johnny's 'wife' in the experiment told Hit Hobart's Jimmy & Nath on Wednesday that Johnny has privately apologised to Liam for his part in the video.
Kerry shared that Georgia had also apologised to her 'husband'.
"Obviously, how can I stand there and condone those comments," Kerry told the hosts.
"I was glad to see Jason put his hands up took responsibility and came out and apologised. Those comments weren't good and they did cause hurt."
She added that Johnny and Georgia's apologies were done "privately months ago".
"They've gone to really great lengths to mend fences and move forward in their friendships with Liam," she said, adding she and Johnny actually caught up with Liam in Brisbane this week.
