Yahoo Lifestyle Mariah Carey Fans Express Concern Over Latest Performance Footage: 'Is She OK?'
Fans are concerned about Mariah Carey.
The singer has been busy with her Celebration of Mimi residency in Las Vegas, but new performance footage left fans feeling worried for her.
Recently, Carey, 55, was seen in fan-captured footage from one of her recent performances, and many viewers noticed she appeared to be moving slower than usual.
The clip, posted to Instagram, shows Carey wearing a pink bodysuit, a sheer pink skirt and giant pink chunky heels while performing her 1995 hit song "Fantasy." Carey slowly walked around the stage while singing, but fans in the comments were quick to notice that she didn't seem to have a ton of energy.
"Is she okay?" one fan wrote under the Instagram video, while someone else wanted to know, "Is she in pain? What is going on?"
"🤔something not right at all," another commenter wrote.
"She moves around like she's an elderly woman," another person added.
"Why is she so stiff? 🤔," someone else added, while another concerned fan chimed in to say, "I'm a little worried about my Mimi❤️."
One user on Instagram suggested that the "Obsessed" singer might need "a break," while others insisted Carey may have just been hyper-focused on her vocals.
"She has never been a 'mover' or a shaker on stage," one person asserted. "I think she’s like 'you got my voice and that’s all I’m giving you.'"
"NO Mariah disrespect tolerated," another person added. "She’s a SINGER. A VOCALIST. An ICON. She EARNED her cemented place in history by her talent and hard work. It’s insane that a society believes you have to keep running yourself into the ground when you’ve [already] out worked and out performed 90% of the people in your field."
Meanwhile, some other users wondered if Carey's high heels stifled her movement, with one person insisting that she should "wear sneakers" in order to "move freely."
Carey's Celebration of Mimi residency is scheduled for three more shows on Feb. 12, Feb. 14 and Feb. 15.
