MAFS' Ella shocks with throwback transformation: 'Shaved my head’
Married At First Sight star Ella Ding has wowed her social media followers after she posted a number of throwback snaps showcasing her very dramatic hair transformations.
The fan favourite bride, who was recognisable for her long dark hair on this year’s season of the reality TV show, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a “few things you may not know about me”, including the fact that she’s rocked a number of unique hairstyles throughout her life.
The first post shows Ella with a buzz cut as she holds a blonde ponytail and beams at the camera.
“In 2014 I shaved my head for the World’s Greatest Shave,” she captioned the image.
Other snaps feature the now-28-year-old rocking a blonde mohawk with shaved sides, a blonde pixie-style bob, and dark hair with both blue and pink tips.

“I had blue hair, pink hair, mohawks, short peroxide hair,” she wrote.
“I loved exploring different hairstyles so much.”
‘Still a work in progress!’
In follow-up Instagram Stories, Ella shared sweet family photos and opened up about more personal details in her life.
“My brother is my bestie,” she wrote. “My mum fell in love, remarried and Russell became my father figure when I was 8.”
The beautician also revealed to her followers that she had “terrible skin” growing up and got cystic acne during lockdown which was “so painful to even sleep” on her cheek.
“I’ve done 10+ skin needling so a lot of laser genesis, still a work in progress!” she added.
‘We really have experienced it all'
Ella’s posts come shortly after she launched her podcast Sit With Us with Domenica Calarco, which has already topped the charts and garnered rave reviews from fans online.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle about the podcast earlier this month, Ella and Dom said that they’re excited to have their own platform where they can be “uncensored and unfiltered”.
“First and foremost, our goal is engaging with our audience and the incredible people that have followed our journey on MAFS, but also not just following us because we were on this TV show, but following us because they resonated with the people that we really are,” Dom explained.
“Also providing advice,” Ella added. “We feel like both of us individually have lived very eventful lives, which we will share a lot on our podcast so that we can bring people up to speed on who we are and why we are who we are.
“We really have experienced it all, whether it has been marriage, divorce, single for 10 years, dating, f**kboys, disappointment, just all that sort of stuff. It's something that so many of us can relate to and there's just so much more that we want to share.”
