MAFS' Dan gives Jess a $400 promise ring

They’ve been the most controversial couple of the season, but Married At First Sight’s Dan Webb and Jessika Power proved their love was worth the scandal during tonight’s moving episode.

While the other couples would be essentially renewing their vows, Dan and Jess were making official promises for the first time, and with that came a special piece of jewellery as well.

Father-of-one Dan made his feelings truly known when he gave Jess a sparkly promise ring to solidify their commitment.

“I’d love nothing more [than] for you to wear this ring as a symbol of commitment towards me,” he told Jess.

“I’d love to wear that for you baby,” a giggling Jess responded.

As the ring’s box showed, the piece of jewellery is from Secrets Shhh, and a scan of their official website shows a sparkler that may very well be the one Dan gave Jess.

The ring resembles the jeweller’s ‘Decorate Stone Set Celebration Band’ in rose gold.

The 10ct gold ring is listed for $399 on the website, and Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Secrets Shhh and Channel Nine for comment.

At first, Dan admitted that he’d been questioning their relationship as they had cheated on their partners Mick and Tamara at the start.

“Despite these feelings I was developing for you, I really struggled with the lie we were living and the betrayal we were carrying out,” he confessed.

“I’m not proud of how our relationship started. We both hurt people. Tamara and Mick didn’t deserve what we did to them.

“In the last few days I’ve had a chance to think long and hard about our relationship and the impact it’s had on other people, and also the impact it’s had on me,” he continued.

“There were moments I was broken, completely shattered by what we were doing and the pain we were causing others. It certainly wasn’t how I imagined starting a relationship and it made me question if we could last as a couple, given the way things were going between us.”

By this point, Jess was no longer smiling and evidently a bit nervous.

“And Jess,” Dan then said. “Life’s too short to hide how we feel and I came here to fall in love and to have someone to take home to introduce to my son as my girl.

“A girl I could feel incomplete without, that I couldn’t breathe without, a girl who would bring out the best in me and make me feel equal to them.”

After a long pause, he put her out of her misery, saying, “I found that girl in you.

“You’ve made me a better man and stronger than I ever was before.

“I feel like everything in my life has led me to you. My choices, my heartbreaks, my past. It’s all led me to you Jess and I don’t regret anything.”
