Here’s why MAFS fans are convinced Carolina and Daniel have split

They were one of the few couples to find love across nine seasons of Married At First Sight, but now fans are convinced that Carolina Santos and Daniel Holmes have called it quits.

Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that Daniel, who had moved from Brisbane to Sydney to be with Carolina after the show ended earlier this year, has recently relocated back to Queensland where he is currently training for his charity boxing match against his co-star Brent Vitiello.

It comes after the personal trainer recently left his job at a new gym in Sydney just two months after the venue opened to pursue a career in 3D design.

Meanwhile, Carolina flew to London earlier this week, noticeably without Daniel who is still in Brisbane.

The online business owner took to social media on Thursday to explain that she actually used to live in London before moving to Australia 10 years ago.

“I have not been back since and I am so happy to finally be back here!” she captioned a photo of herself posing next to Big Ben.

A source tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “The rest of the cast are all convinced they're over but don't want to announce anything just yet to distract from Daniel's fight. They've barely spent any time together lately or have been dodging questions.”

Yahoo Lifestyle has reached out to Daniel and Carolina for comment, however, they are yet to respond.

Daniel’s cryptic post

The speculation comes shortly after Daniel sparked concern in July by sharing a cryptic post saying he was “crying every day” and struggling with his mental health.

“I feel immense pressure, I trust no one, I fail then fail again, the ones I love hurt me, I hurt them back,” he wrote on Instagram.

A few days later, he and Carolina shared a follow-up video addressing the post and shut down rumours that they had split.

The mother-of-one insisted that they were “still very much together”, and Daniel explained that he had just experienced “a really really bad day” and wanted to move on from the incident.

‘Was there a breakup?’

Carolina then reignited speculation that they had broken up last week when she posted a bikini snap alongside the caption: “Smile and no one will see how broken you are inside.”

The post was quickly flooded with comments from her co-stars Tamara Djordjevic and Jessica Seracino who left heart emojis, and fans who questioned if she and Daniel were still together.

“Oh dear lord… Was there a breakup?” one follower asked. “Well that is a shock. Thought it would last at least six more minutes.”

“Who broke up honey it’s a bikini collaboration,” Carolina replied. “Pretty sure I have posted bikini photos my whole life if you scroll down.”

Carolina’s most recent post with Daniel was on July 16 when she shared a video montage from their time on the show, and it appears he hasn’t liked any of her posts since July 20.

Daniel’s most recent post is a video of himself and Carolina practising their punches in the park, which was posted on July 24.

At the time of writing, the pair still follow each other on Instagram and have each other’s names in their bios.
