MAFS’ Cam discovers his photos are being used to catfish in Ireland

Despite being one of the few Married At First Sight stars still with their on-screen partner, Cam Merchant was recently spotted on a dating app.

The 37-year-old’s photos are currently being used to try and catfish women in Ireland, with his name changed to Mark and age reduced to 35.

Cam, who is married and has a baby with Jules Robinson, took to Instagram to poke fun at the fake profile using three of his photos.

“And I’m back in the dating game and back on the market in Ireland on Badoo dating app,” he jokingly announced.

The profile lists Mark’s information as single, straight, occasional drinker and smoker, and speaks English.

“I’m 35, enjoy Netflix, crazy golf and long walks along the beach. Can’t believe I’m an ‘occasional smoker’ though, but doing my best to quit entirely (you got this Mark),” the former cricketer added.

“So if you’re lucky enough to match and go on a date with Mark in Ireland, first of all, please know it isn’t actually me, and secondly, you better bring your Crazy Golf A-game.”

A number of former MAFS stars took to the comments to laugh at Cam’s post, including 2021 contestant Kerry Knight who noticed an interesting detail.

“Is that Jules’ head they’ve cropped out of there too?! Oh my days,” she wrote, with Jules humorously replying, “They cut me out! How rude.”

“What’s the guy going to say when he turns up on the date? ‘Oh hey, I look a bit different to my pictures but let me buy you a Guinness anyway’,” Cam’s co-star Mike Gunner remarked.

“Oh hi Mark! What star sign are you?” Dean Wells commented.

One follower also pointed out that because the Australian version of MAFS recently aired in the UK, the Irish user may have been trying to “create a scandal”.

A number of Cam and Jules’ season six co-stars have recently made their return to reality TV, with Martha Kalifatidis competing on Celebrity Apprentice earlier this year and Jessika Power set to appear on Big Brother VIP soon.

The 29-year-old is rumoured to be making $20,000 from the gig, while Martha earned $30,000 for her show.

Jessika will be joined in the BB house with KUWTK star Caitlyn Jenner, Meghan Markle’s estranged half-brother Thomas Markle Jr., and Survivor star Luke Toki.
