Macy Gray 'storms off' “The Masked Singer” U.K.'s“ ”stage dressed as 'Toad in the Hole' after she’s eliminated
She tried to say goodbye but she choked.
Macy Gray would like a word with The Masked Singer's judging panel.
At the climax of a recent episode of the U.K. version of the competition reality series, Gray stormed off the stage after the judges failed to save her. Despite the majority of the judging panel guessing the singer's identity correctly (Gray appeared in three episodes in the Toad in the Hole mask), Gray's competitor in the Bear mask was favored, prompting her dramatic exodus.

The "I Try" singer did eventually rejoin host Joel Dommett for the customary post-reveal Q&A, but she only offered monosyllabic answers while in a state of visible frustration. "Did you have fun on the show?" Dommett asked Gray, to which she responded, "Yeah," with little enthusiasm.
Dommett posted a video of the moment in the broadcast to his Instagram on Saturday with the caption, "Lol."
"You know, I've been singing for a long time," Gray said at one point, "and now I'm a toad."
This is Gray's third appearance on a version of The Masked Singer, a wildly popular reality competition series that originated in South Korea, in which celebrities disguised in outlandish costumes sing for a panel of judges who try to guess their identities.

Gray appeared on season 3 of the Australian version of the show, making it to episode six in the Atlantis costume. She made it to the finals of season 10 of the American version as Sea Queen, eventually placing fourth behind actors Janel Parrish, John Schneider, and singer Ne-Yo, who won the season.
"It's an awesome show, and it's always fun with the fans," Gray told the audience after being unmasked, imparting this advice before taking her exit: "Be good to yourselves, be good to each other, don't take no s--- off nobody."

Season 6 of the U.K.'s Masked Singer is currently judged by presenters Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall, comic Mo Gilligan, and radio DJ Maya Jama.
Dommett defended the judges' decision in a recent interview on BBC Radio 2, saying, "The case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognizable voice, and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don't know who they are."
He also voiced understanding for Gray's feelings but found it hard not to find the optics of Gray's impulsive decision humorous, saying, "You can't be vexed when you’re dressed as a toad. In my professional career – I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice – but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a six-foot toad storming off. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life."
