Confession time: I’m 44-years-old (actually, on the precipice of turning the big 4-5), and don’t wear foundation. To be fair, I used a mountain’s worth of bronzer, powder, blush, and foundation back in my community theater days—but ever since I stopped performing, I’ve eschewed piling on the makeup in favor of a freer, more natural look. Even so, I have to admit I’ve been super curious about the dewiness and blurring properties that skin tints seem to receive such high praise for. Enter the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion, which is currently on sale for as little as $13 at Amazon.

I was initially curious about it because of its widespread appeal—namely, Martha Stewart. In fact, her makeup artist Daisy Toye said, “it's how [Martha] gets that dewy look, like she just got a facial.” Considering a slew of other celebrities have used the lightweight tinted moisturizer, too—Elle Fanning, Viola Davis, and Helen Mirren among them—my interest was certainly piqued.

This skin tint is super lightweight and non-greasy, which I love. It’s formulated with glycerin and shea butter, which work in tandem to lock in hydration and moisture. It’s also enriched with luminous pearls to—you guessed it—enhance skin’s natural glow. The result? A product that simultaneously nourishes and illuminates the skin. Plus, it comes in five shades, including fair, light, medium, deep, and rich, so you can decide how much glow and color you want for your skin tone.

I’ve been using this skin tint on repeat for the past few months, and I can safely say my skin has never looked or felt better. I’m very fair-skinned, so I gravitated towards the fair shade, which blends perfectly without leaving an annoying foundation line between my chin and neck. I apply hyaluronic acid serum first and then go in with the Lumi Glotion.

After watching a ton of how-tos on TikTok, I discovered it’s best to create squiggly lines on each cheek and single lines on the forehead and chin, and then blend in with my fingertips. While I stop there, you can wear it under foundation, too. The resulting glow lasts for hours with no fading, streaking, or smudging. And—hot tip—applying just a couple dots to the under-eye area and blending in makes my raccoon-like dark circles disappear in a hot second.

I’ve been raving about the Lumi Glotion to anyone who’ll listen—in all honesty, my friends are probably sick of hearing me talk about my amazing, lit-from-within glow. (And, yes, I’ve actually used those words IRL.) I’m certainly not alone, since the skin tint has racked up more than 31,500 glowing ratings on Amazon, too. One shopper said they “get compliments all the time on how dewy and glowy [their] skin looks,” and that it leaves skin “feeling luxurious.” Others said it “blurs fine lines and totally wakes up your skin” and that it’s “smooth, creamy, and applies easily.”

I can’t stop singing this skin tint’s praises. As someone who previously held all face makeup at arm’s length, I’m here to tell you that this Stewart-approved product is a glow-worthy essential for your daily skincare routine.
