Lupita Nyong’o Latest To Join Christopher Nolan’s Next Movie At Universal

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s next event film at Universal. She joins previously announced cast members Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya.

The film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026. The date falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.

Universal had no comment on the casting of Nyong’o.

The movie is expected to start shooting in early 2025, but sources note that loglines or descriptions of the film that have been published to date are wrong, and details are being kept under wraps.

Nyong’o was most recently seen in the Paramount pic A Quiet Place: Day One. She also lent her voice to the Universal and DreamWorks Animation film The Wild Robot.

The actress is repped by CAA and Del Shaw. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to break the news.
