Love Triangle star Sulei Hunt was almost cast for MAFS 2024

EXCLUSIVE: Reality star Sulei Hunt has admitted he's now 'glad' he didn't end up on Married At First Sight.

A Love Triangle star has revealed he was poached for the show after originally applying to be on MAFS.

Sulei Hunt is one of the main men on Season 2 of Love Triangle, picking between two women to try his hand at blind dating and finding his forever match.

Sulei talked to Yahoo Lifestyle about his journey joining the reality show and while he admitted that he hadn't watched the first season of Love Triangle, he had actually been gearing up for an arguably bigger experiment: Married at First Sight.

"My sister used to watch MAFS, and I'd get home and she'd be watching it... and then I low-key started enjoying it," he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

"Then one day I was gaming with a few of the boys [on the computer] and a MAFS ad popped up to apply for it. I clicked on it and filled out the first page of the application and it's like... seven pages long, [so] I was like, I'm not doing this."

Sulei then said he was called by a casting producer who wanted him to finish his application and asked if he was free for a Zoom call.

As he kept completing his application process for MAFS, producers then asked him if he'd be interested in chatting about Love Triangle.

"I went and spoke to two producers and they asked me if I wanted to be on that instead and I'm glad I did it and didn't go on MAFS," he said. "Knowing the experience I went on, I think that would be magnified completely on something like MAFS."

Sulei admitted he hadn't watched Season 1 of Love Triangle until "four days" before he left to film the show, admitting he had no idea about the premise of the show when he was interviewing to be on it.

"I watched it and I was like, 'OK this is what I'm going to do then!'" he laughed. "Fake it 'til you make it."
