Love Island Australia 2019: Meet the sexy singles entering the villa
Love Island Australia is back for its second year, and the ten sexy singles who will kick off this season’s action have been revealed.
Feast your eyes on the lovely ladies and gentleman set to strip to their swimwear and live la vita bella poolside in Fiji.
Host Sophie Monk has introduced them as ‘very attractive’, and she’s not wrong.
“This year’s cast] is very diverse in every area, from religion to education to occupation to race — everything,” she said, “So it'll be very interesting.”
But as fans of the franchise know, the numbers in the villa won’t stay even for long, and new and equally attractive faces will be gradually added into the mix. For now, let’s get acquainted with the first ten.
Meet Love Island Australia’s class of 2019:
Jessie Wynter
Age: 23
Instagram handle: @jessiereneewynter
Hobart waitress Jessie had dabbled in beauty pageants and modelling and boasts a cool 55,000 followers on Instagram.
While she says her “mouth works faster than her brain”, the 23-year-old doesn’t want to be mistaken for someone with a low IQ.
Vanessa Joli
Age: 24
Instagram handle: @vanessasierra
A quick look at Vanessa’s Instagram profile shows she loves a sexy snap, but the brunette beauty isn’t afraid of making fun of herself either.
The Sydneysider speaks French and grew up in Vanuatu. She’s also a bit of a bookworm having studied finance and economics at uni, and has just started a Masters in computer science.
Cynthia Taylu
Age: 23
Instagram handle: @taylu_me
A model by trade, Cynthia is no stranger to posing up a storm in a two-piece so should be right at home in the villa.
She’s been living in Australia since the age of seven having been born in Liberia in West Africa.
Cartiér Surjan
Age: 19
Instagram handle: @cartiersurjan
Cartiér is this year’s youngest lady at just 19-years-old, but she’s no pushover.
A born-again Christian, this Sydneysider will be sticking to her morals, which include largely steering clear of alcohol. She’s also a lifesaver which will come in handy during their pool parties.
Cassie Lansdell
Age: 26
Instagram handle: @cassielansdell
London-born Cassie should bring a bit of British charm to the island. The 26-year-old executive assistant has been living in sunny Sydney for the past six years, and has dabbled in a little YouTube, particularly when it comes to fashion and beauty.
Judging by her Instagram page, she’s also a keen traveller, and recently got back from a trip to Bali and Vietnam.
Sam Withers
Age: 28
Instagram handle: @djsamwithers
DJ Sam may prove to be a hard man to please, with the 28-year-old saying he’s very picky when it comes to girlfriends.
The Melbourne local is a big family man and has just become an uncle. He’s also doesn’t mind whipping his shirt off on Instagram.
Adam Farrugia
Age: 27
Instagram handle: @adzyfarrugia
Covered in tats, Adam is into fitness, modelling and his mum.
He’s a plasterer from the Gold Coast and has never had a real girlfriend - but that might be about to change.
Matthew Zukowski
Age: 24
Instagram handle: @mattzukowski
Looking wiser than his 24 years, Matthew is a model and wrestler who’s into WWE in a big way.
He’s a friend of last year’s contestant Justin Lacko and not one to shy away from a dress-up party.
Eoghan Murphy
Age: 23
Instagram handle: @eoghannmurphy
Another bloke who looks older than he is, 23-year-old Eoghan (pronounced Owen) is a real estate agent from the Gold Coast who is often mistaken for Aquaman.
Born in Ireland and sporting a healthy beard, he describes himself as a “respectful man with a huge heart” - his six-pack’s not bad either.
Gerard Majda
Age: 23
Instagram handle: @bodymajic
Gerard is sure to stir things up in the villa - or at least in the kitchen - as he hosts a nude Instagram cooking show, sometimes with his mum. And just to clarify, we mean 23-year-old Gerard cooks naked under an apron, his mum is fully clothed.
His love of getting his gear off doesn’t stop in the kitchen either, and he once got completely naked on the gym floor after everyone else had left.
The Perth man is a personal trainer by trade and specialises in working with people with disability.
Love Island’s big return
Sophie Monk will once again return as host, but instead of airing on 9Go as it did last year, Love Island will be on main channel in 2019.
The villa has also had a location change, moving from the Spanish party isle of Mallorca, to the much closer Fiji.
You can catch the first episode on Monday, October 7.
