Lizzo shocks as she 'can't stop' swearing on The Project: 'Not good enough'

The star divided fans with her swearing on the show.

Lizzo stunned The Project fans on Thursday night when she dropped the F-bomb nine times during an interview with Sarah Harris.

The 34-year-old pop star was on the show to promote her upcoming Australian shows, including her headline performance at Splendour in the Grass.

When Sarah asked how she felt about winning Record of the Year at this year's Grammys, Lizzo didn't hold back.

"It's kind of like f**k, I wasn't expecting it at all," she said. "I was sitting there like, 'alright whatever', but you're like okay, 'f**k, I've gotta say something', 'f**k, you won', 'f**k, who are you going to thank', 'f**k, don't forget anybody', 'f**k, like how did this happen', 'f**k is everyone gonna be mad at me?'

"Like there's all these things! Then it's like 'f**k you won!' It's all of these things with a little 'f**king' in between."

Video of the singer winning the award then played, with the star saying at the time, "I got a f**king Grammy!"

Earlier in the chat she also joked about headlining Glastonbury Festival in the UK alongside Guns N' Roses, saying, "It hasn't really sunk in, like am I headlining actually? But Guns N' Roses is a legendary, legendary band, so we're gonna rock out with our c**ks out."

The Project joked on Instagram, "Try to keep count cos Lizzo just can’t stop cussin’."

Some viewers were less than impressed with the language, with one Instagram user commenting, "Educate these people improve their vocabulary not good enough she’s on national television so sad."

On Facebook, people were much more relaxed about the swearing, with one user writing, "The swearing made it entertaining at least!"

"She swears just like an Australian - she’s most welcome here!" another added.

"Talented and loves a swear word," a third said with a laughing emoji.

"She really is beautiful," someone else added, while another said they "can't wait to see her" when she's in Australia.

Along with Splendour in the Grass, Lizzo will be performing shows in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in July.

Lizzo told Sarah she "can't wait to come to Australia" and is prepared for the mud that festival-goers have to deal with at Splendour in the Grass.

"I heard like you've got to bring the boots, the rubber boots and I will be there with my wellies on," she said, adding, "I'm great with mud, I like to get down and rough and tussle you know, I'm a country girl."
