Woman's X-rated confession about mother-in-law leaves internet divided

A woman has shared an anonymous dilemma to the Life Uncut podcast and it's definitely a family matter you wouldn't want to face yourself.
Writing into the popular Aussie podcast hosted by ex-Bachie stars Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley, the unnamed person spoke of accidentally finding out something incriminating about her mother-in-law and not quite knowing how to proceed.
After explaining that she's currently living with her partner's family, the person shared she was looking after her nephew and niece when she grabbed her mother-in-law's phone to bring up YouTube.
However, she got more than what she bargained for, accidentally reading a text message from her MIL's boss, which contained explicit sexual things.
"My sister-in-law was with me at the time and also read the message," the dilemma read. "She [the mother in law] is still married. We haven't confronted her about anything. I haven't told my boyfriend and I don't feel like it's my place to.

"What should I do? Ignore that I ever read the message?"

Life Uncut fans flocked to the comments to share their opinions, and the reaction was mixed.
"Don’t say a thing," one person urged her.
"Tell the boyfriend," another person said, with someone else agreeing. "Who keeps secrets from their partner?" they asked.
"The messages weren't intended for you. Ignore it. Forget about it," someone else advised.
"Only you know how your husband will react - but I wouldn’t keep it from him. Before you speak to your husband you need to let your sister-in-law know," another person said. "Then the three of you can decide how to let the mother know you know. This is her problem, not yours."

A lot of people did agree that perhaps it was better to hand the grenade to the sister-in-law.
"Chat with the SIL about what she wants to do, it’s her parents," someone commented. "A lot of times the messenger gets the blame and the daughter is much less likely to be pushed aside or resented for bringing this to light."
"I’d be talking to the sister-in-law, chatting to partners and then either approaching it all together, or whoever feels most comfortable. It wasn’t like you were searching for it, it just arrived. Honesty is the best policy," someone else advised.
