Netflix's A Man on the Inside has a near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score and is leaving fans in tears

Netflix's new show A Man on the Inside, is being praised by viewers and critics alike and has landed itself an almost perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Ted Danson and created by Mike Schur, who is also the man behind fan favourites The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the show has left fans begging for more.

Ted stars as retired professor Charles, who is recruited by a local private investigator to infiltrate a retirement community in an attempt to find a jewel thief who has been stealing from residents. Other cast members include Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada and Sally Struthers to name a few.

A Man on the Inside falls just below The Good Place, which Ted also starred in, on Rotten Tomatoes, so if you're a fan of the Kristen Bell-led series, this might be your jam.

Fans rave about Netflix's A Man on the Inside

Fans have taken to social media to share their reviews about the show, with many saying it's left them in tears.

"Watching A Man on the Inside and I'm so close to crying every episode... thanks Schur," one user wrote on X.

"I don't know how I got invested into watching A Man On The Inside, but now I'm home on a Saturday morning crying about [redacted due to spoilers]," another said.

"I’m watching Ted Danson’s A Man On The Inside on Netflix and I can’t believe it’s so funny," a third fan said. "I don’t even know why I put it on in the first place but I’m already 4 episodes in and don’t feel like stopping. Would currently give it 5/5 stars. Absolutely love it!"

The Good Place cameos and Easter eggs

It seems there are plenty of fun cameos for The Good Place fans, with one user writing on X, "Binge watched Netflix’s A Man on the Inside and loved it. Smart, funny, sweet, poignant, sad, heartbreaking. 😭 Also really enjoyed the cameos from The Good Place actors."

One user also pointed out some Good Place Easter eggs, writing, "The Good Place Easter eggs in A Man on the Inside: An area inside the retirement home is called The Neighbourhood." They added, "Charles' room number is 322 aka the amount of residents in the original TGP neighbourhood."

Other Easter eggs include one episode being titled 'Tinker Tailor Older Spy', which is a play on the novel and film titled Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, but also references a Good Place episode titled, 'Tinker, Tailor, Demon, Spy'.

In one episode of A Man on the Inside, Ted does Michael's iconic Good Place laugh that he lets out in the season one finale, if you know, you know.

At the very end of the last episode, a woman is seen wearing the same jumper that Kristen Bell's character Eleanor Shellstrop wears in The Good Place, with some people believing it might have been Eleanor herself.
