Aldi shoppers are praising a fun Special Buys item that is perfect for the summer season and will no doubt keep the kids off your back as you try to organise Christmas lunch.

Long gone are the days of the casual slip 'n' slide, where you'd propel yourself down a long yellow water slide and come to a crash landing on a dry patch of grass at the bottom of your backyard — kids these days are living it up and living fancy with products like Aldi's inflatable water park.

The water park includes a basketball hoop, a climbing wall, and four basketballs, as well as spray water blasters and a super water slide, and many parents swear it's one of the best purchases they've ever made.

"BEST random Aldi buy ever!" one happy mum commented in an Aldi Facebook group, including a photo of her kids playing in the water park. "It's a hit!"

"I legit ducked out today with the, 'if there is one there it’s meant to be' mentality and it came home with me," another commented. "I bought the same for my kiddies last year, they spent all summer on it. Was a massive hit, I brought them a new one as I didn’t take good care of our last one, will be giving it to them when it arrives," another mum commented.

"We’ve had ours for four years and still going strong," another fan said. "Great family fun especially on a hot Xmas day!"

While a lot of people are fans of the water park, some queried how to clean and store it to retain its longevity.

"It's been an absolute hit with the kids," one shopper said. "[But] I just wanted to know for those that have bought it before – do you just turn the air machine off and leave it, or do you air off, empty it and move it away and set it all up the next day?"

Other purchasers were quick to offer advice in the comments. "We have three!" one person said. "We just turn the air off and let it deflate overnight (as long as it isn’t windy) and turn it back on in the morning."

"Let the bottom drain then leave it... honestly, ours stayed out for months at a time and we only put it over our swing set to dry off once a week to move it so our grass didn't die," another commented.

"If I’m planning on using it the next day I just unplug everything and leave it where it is! And hot tip if you have finished using it, empty the water and blow it up again when it’s empty to dry in all in the sun," someone else shared.

And one happy shopper shared a tale of how they had the water park for over a decade.

"We had ours from when my youngest was 2 (now 15!) from Aldi and it’s seen countless fun! Best thing for kids ever! We would empty it, whilst being blown up, then leave for 30-60mins in the sun, whilst still blown up," they said. "Then turn it all off, flip is over and leave in the sun until dry. It can take a few days! These are the best, have fun!"
